| 内容記述 | There are multiple meanings and usages of the Chinese character “Gei” in modern Chinese, and various previous studies have been conducted on this topic. In addition to being a verb that can mean “to give” or “to bestow,” “Gei” can also function as a causative marker or a passive marker, among other grammaticalized functions. “Gei” is also present in the Chengdu dialect, and it is commonly used in daily life. This study aims to investigate the usage of “Gei” in the Chengdu dialect, providing a comprehensive overview of its meanings and usages in comparison to Mandarin (Standard Chinese). |
