| 内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to investigate the characteristics of the development of the traditional industries in Hiroshima Prefecture in the Meiji Era using the Hiroshima ken Kangyou Nenpo(the Annual Report of the promotion of Industry of Hiroshima Prefecture) . At the beginning of the Meiji period, all the industries in Hiroshima Prefecture were traditional ones. Many of these industries grew steadily with the expansion of the domestic and foreign markets in the Meiji period. Some of these industries where new outstanding products were developed grew rapidly. A few industries with markets overtaken by foreign ones became smaller. Some new indigenous industries with products exported to foreign markets emerged. At the end of the Meiji period, the traditional and indigenous industries that constituted the greater part of the industries of Hiroshima Prefecture were still there. |
